ABSTRACT

Given the number of occasions on which I referred to W Edwards Deming in Chapters 4 and 5 it might be considered risky on my part to return to his ideas at this stage. To recommend also one of his most famous contributions to ideas of organisational health and growth as yet another possible approach to the challenge of strategy review and development may be seen as positively foolhardy. However, I make no apologies that his thinking has been, and is, instrumental in developing my own approach to working in support of schools and colleges.
