ABSTRACT
The extraordinarily complex process of conception, gestation, birth and development does not always run smoothly and developmental disorders are quite common.
From conception some disorders are inevitable, because of transference of a genetic condition such as Tourette Syndrome or because of a chromosomal disorder such as Down’s Syndrome. Other conditions may arise through neonatal challenges such as problems with the pregnancy, infection, injury, or exposure to toxins or premature birth.
