ABSTRACT
Despite significant progress toward gender equality worldwide, numerous empirical studies have revealed that women still face noticeable wage differentials and wage discrimination in many developing and industrial countries. 1 A woman that performs the same tasks as a man and has a similar level of education and work experience is still likely to earn less. This gender wage differential has narrowed in many countries but it still persists. 2
