ABSTRACT

SUMMARY. From the first record of a Web-based electronic journal at Texas A&M in 1995, to a collection of over 35,000 unique electronic titles today, electronic delivery of journal content has shifted from the exotic to the expected mode of delivery in less than 10 years. In the last 3 years, we have moved aggressively to electronic-only licensing from publishers which assure permanent access rights, with more than 3,000 of over 9,000 publisher subscriptions now received electronic only. This paper describes the growth of our electronic collections, the evolution of our Web site as a listing and finding tool, and the transitions of managing electronic collections first manually, then with Serials Solutions, and now with SFX.
