ABSTRACT
One evening during the 1950s as José was starting his performance, the door of the Cat opened, and in walked a handsome man in his fifties. Accompanying him was a young man in his late teens or early twenties. It was obvious to José immediately that the two men were a couple, and he began to tease them as he did so many patrons who braved his shows.
