ABSTRACT
Although José is an entertainer always, and although he loves to tease and make people laugh, he is very clear about what he thinks is right and wrong and what should or should not be done within the Imperial Court System. As a leader he is both charming and effective because he is able to combine his keen sense of values with his humor. He prefers to disarm conflict with laughter, and he sweetens his admonishments with irony and camp. Many times, though, he does not even need to lecture. His actions speak quite clearly enough.
