ABSTRACT

These goals are addressed in part through a program of international collaboration in the research, development and demonstration of new energy technologies under the framework of over 40 Implementing Agreements. The lEAs R&D activities are headed by the Committee on Energy Research and Technology (CERT) which is supported by a small Secretariat staff in Paris. In addition, four Working Parties (in Conservation, Fossil Fuels, Renewable Energy and Fusion) are charged with monitoring the various collaborative agreements, identifying new areas for cooperation and advising the CERT on policy matters.
