ABSTRACT

As a new financing institution under the Kyoto Protocol, the Adaptation Fund is about to begin disbursing funds to help developing countries adapt to the adverse effects of climate change. It has the objective of financing concrete adaptation activities, especially in those countries that are ‘particularly vulnerable’ to the effects of climate change. It is estimated that the amount of available finance under the fund will be in the range US$297–438 million between 2010 and the end of 2012. 2
