ABSTRACT
The authors consider the suggestion that the new environmental ethics that they have contended for does not have any practical consequences different from those of conventional ethics. They have already, in the paper * from which this Reading comes, argued that in a number of hypothetical situations, such as that of the last man, the two ethical systems would justify very different actions. They now argue that the same can be seen to be true in a series of real life situations.
