ABSTRACT

I stood in the crowd clustered near to the circle races 2 finish line. I could not help but hear the conversation between two men beside me. One man clearly had a deep knowledge of the sport and he was telling the other one about it, including, it seems, about how athletes run dead to secure a lighter handicap. On learning about this, the second man questioned the honesty of the sport, to which the first replied, ‘If everybody's a cheat, it's not dishonest’.
