STRUCTURE OF THE LAW DEALING WITH HOUSING STANDARDS AND THEIR ENFORCEMENT
The main provisions are found in the Housing Act 2004, which contains:
(a) a system for assessing housing conditions based on the use of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS);
(b) enforcement options; and (c) licensing of certain houses in multiple occupation and selective licensing
for other residential accommodation.
