ABSTRACT

This final chapter of commentary ventures into the least studied part of Religion. Part One’s account of evil, Part Two’s discussion of moral transformation, and even a few elements of Part Three, such as its introduction of the Ethical Community and its Remarkable Antinomy, have been amply discussed in the secondary literature. But there is no core theme or pivotal moment in Part Four that has drawn like attention. Its inner structure remains obscure to most and its relationship to the whole of Religion has not been adequately examined.
