ABSTRACT

The contract will normally define those elements of the overall project cost which are included within the builder’s quotation. In addition to the basic price of the completed vessel, the contract price will usually incorporate the costs of conducting all necessary tests and trials of the vessel and all charges levied by the classification society and the regulatory authorities in connection with their supervision of her construction and the issuance of relevant certificates; it will not normally include either the cost of the buyer’s supplies or any expenses associated with the vessel’s registration upon delivery.
