ABSTRACT
Following delivery and acceptance, the builder will wish as far as possible to limit the extent of his continuing responsibility for the vessel and, in particular, for any deficiencies in the contract works. The buyer will invariably seek to ensure that defects which have not been ascertained and rectified prior to his acceptance of the vessel will not expose him to unforeseen future costs or liabilities.
