ABSTRACT
A number of formal notices (in particular, concerning payment of the contract price instalments and the delivery of the vessel) will need to be given by each of the parties during the life of any shipbuilding contract. Given that the buyer and the builder will often be located thousands of miles apart, it is common to include within the contract provisions concerning the precise methods by which such notices are to be given.
