ABSTRACT
This chapter starts by examining the physiology of the respiratory system, its structure and function. We then look at the disorders and pathologies associated with the respiratory system and finally explore the pharmacology – the action of the major drug groups used in the treatment of respiratory disorders and pathologies.
256The chapter contains some brief case studies and finishes off with self-test questions to ensure that you have understood the physiology of the respiratory system, associated disorders and the pharmacology of drugs used to treat those disorders.
