ABSTRACT
Exploitation of the HSR requires having a highly qualified personnel of transport engineers. In the article the formal determinants of the education of specialists in this field were discussed. An attention was brought to the necessity of complying with the National Qualifications Framework for the higher education and elaboration of suitable educational effects.
Example subjects of the education were given together with a scope of programs that should be included in those subjects. An attention was brought to the problems of exploitation and maintenance, rolling stock construction, building of modern solutions for infrastructure and rules of traffic signalling. Chosen examples of realization of the education in foreign centres were presented.
