ABSTRACT
This chapter analyses the perceptions of the European Union in Africa. The analysis will be made from the constructivist perspective in international relations. Taking into account others’ perception of one actor is important as it contributes to a foreign policy identity. Africa might be seen recently as a fundamental actor in international relations. Furthermore, Africa’s international relations are both shaping and being shaped by international processes and structures. 1
