ABSTRACT

This chapter presents examples of a dialogue practice that strives for a certain degree of depth and intensity, and which to some extent may even take place in a social context. The purpose of the examples is to offer some insight into conversation practices and, hopefully, give the reader the confidence to practice this in real life. The first example is a social activity without any professional ambitions. The concepts on the special SNAK cards are intended to inspire a sort of protreptic conversation. Many neighbourhoods and schools in Denmark face major social challenges, particularly in dealing with adolescent boys and young men and their ability to navigate and take responsibility for their own life. To translate the knowledge and experience to learning in a forward-looking and innovative perspective it helps to facilitate it ‘social discourses, actions and specific relationships’.
