ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a list of interviews conducted in Moscow in the fall and winter of 2014/15. The author has decided against identifying the interviewees by name to prevent them from encountering any possible negative consequences from their participation in this study. The interviewees include a former editor of video archives for a state television channel; video-editor for television productions; and camera operator for national and regional television. They also include: an independent documentary maker, who was in a high-ranking position in an industry representational body; former governmental advisor on film policy and state funding; camera operator for national television; a documentary producer at a state television channel; and a documentary director at a state television channel. The author's assumptions about the television and film industry and, in particular, the ways the state influences them have also been informed by the interviews.
