ABSTRACT

In Chapter 7, an academic perspective of EE is presented through an R&D outlook, embodied in three main opportunity-exploitation models that form the basis for a variety of innovative, educational forms: gamification, internships, virtual digitalized learning, such as virtual reality, virtual hackathons, incubators and accelerators, and virtual learning environments. In this chapter, students and educators may gain more insight on proactively initiating and co-creating learning that is relevant and practical, and that uses the new shared, open, digitalized forms of EE. Through the European model of INNOVATING, a unique program that aims at fostering innovation at a huge learning company, described in the case study concluding this chapter, R&D, planning and implementation of an innovative concept in entrepreneurship are illustrated.
