ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 introduces the dataset on the politicization of global tax governance and presents descriptive findings. The chapter describes the measurement of politicization and its operationalizing components, salience, controversy, and plurality in the media. These data show that global tax governance has become more salient and controversial among a growing segment of the analyzed public spheres. In addition to this main message, the chapter reveals that the late 1990s were crucial for this process.
