ABSTRACT

This chapter is a question and answer style article that contains past FRCA paper examples related to neurosurgery, neuroradiology and neurocritical care. It also guides trainees on the most effective manner in which to approach these questions. The discussion covers the following: the nuclei of the vagus nerve; the immediate relations of the right vagus nerve in the neck at C6 and thorax at T4; the branches of the vagus nerve; and which clinical situations commonly produce vagal reflex bradycardia.
