ABSTRACT

It seemed so long ago. Only a couple of years, but the progress and maturation of the team during that time was undeniable. Both Georgina and the team had gotten quite close to the expert during their journey. They simply referred to him as their coach, even though he was a consultant. Some of the senior executives loathed consultants. To tell the truth, the coach didn’t like the term consultant either. It was often associated with unnecessary spending and mediocre results. He didn’t want to be lumped in with that group of IT professionals or cost-cutters that healthcare workers had grown to hate. The ELT didn’t like paying for consultants. Many wished they just would hire someone or develop existing employees.
