ABSTRACT

This chapter emphasizes the mechanism for choosing the most profitable productivity improvement projects, projects chosen to achieve Manufacturing Cost Improvement (MCI) consistently. It presents the main ingredients of selecting profitable improvement projects. The chapter shows the some phases and some steps of the Manufacturing Cost Policy Deployment (MCPD) system. It addresses the few steps of the MCPD system to show the method of establishing MCI targets and means and, implicitly, the method of choosing the most profitable improvement projects. Through the deployment of kaizen and kaikaku projects in a structured way and constantly directed to the ideal cost, the manufacturing flow transformation is achieved through productivity. The step of the MCPD system is to develop and implement both productivity policy deployment to achieve Company productivity vision translation to annual activities, and MCI policy deployments to set an annual MCI goal or annual productivity stake.
