ABSTRACT

Candidates may arrive at a station and be presented with a test result or series of test results to analyse and interpret. Such stations not only examine their ability to extract information from diagnostic test results but also allow an exploration of their knowledge of when and how they would use such tests – the indications, appropriateness and limitations of testing – and how test results will influence their clinical management. Engage the examiner and ensure eye contact when responding. The examiner will then ask further questions based upon the test result or provide further tests to be interpreted. This is a structured viva assessing the candidate's ability to interpret the data provided. It also assesses their knowledge regarding the assessment of urinary incontinence by using urodynamics.
