Behind the scenes ("BTS") content photographs, video footage, interviews, commentary, featurettes and mini-documentaries is among the most highly consumed and popular promotional material particularly in the final weeks and days leading to the film's premiere. Since photographic stills and video footage created by the BTS team are produced for the purpose of marketing and promotion – and, therefore, widely disseminated to the public – they are commonly considered public domain and, therefore, clearance and credit is generally not necessary. While production photos and behinds-the-scenes stills and video footage provide the audience with a rare look inside the film and the filmmaking process, BTS interviews and commentary allow fans to hear directly about the film's production from the cast and crew.
