ABSTRACT

The Russian doping scandal shattered the myth of an effective anti-doping narrative. It has also brought to light the inherent flaws in the WADA Code. The systemic flaws in the WADA-enforced anti-doping regime enable elite athletes to get away with doping. The Russian scandal also highlights the lack of accountability on the part of WADA. The scandal makes the WADA Code look like a raw deal for developing country/non-elite athletes. Revamping the existing WADA Code appears to be the need of the hour.
