ABSTRACT

Most companies do not succeed in their efforts to adopt new technology because they merely import their digital tools in the healthcare setting and in the physician’s hands. In this chapter we are going to explore what is the primary advantage of a patient–physician digital strategy over a purely digital one and how developing a successful strategy can help organizations form and strengthen relationships with both physicians and patients in ways that also benefit the organization. We’ll begin our journey with a literature review on the adoption of telemedicine in action with a main focus on participation in telemedicine and the perception of its usefulness.
