ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on implicit bias trainings as one piece in a broader strategy to reduce implicit bias within a setting. A three-phase approach to planning and implementing implicit bias trainings is detailed. The first phase includes ensuring buy-in, choosing who delivers training, developing training, and collecting data. In the next phase, content is determined. The final phase follows up on the training and assesses efficacy using data. Together, the three phases provide a detail-oriented approach to creating and implementing a successful implicit bias training.
