ABSTRACT

Entity authentication is a mechanism that allows a connection between two parties authentically. The first party asks to establish the connection, whereas the second party accepts or denies the request after verifying the identity of the first party. The purpose of entity authentication is to prevent unauthorized access to protect resources. Due to the improvements of hacking tools and malicious accesses to others accounts and degradation of security concept by fake users, thus allowing hackers to get access into the system. Secure authentication methods are gaining more attention from research to secure access to various applications. Massey–Omura cryptosystem has some features that make it vulnerable to cryptanalysts. This kind of cryptosystem deals with prime modulus and considered as an exponential system. User authentication is one of the most important aspects of network security. This aspect is the target of various researchers in order to ensure user privacy in all applications of information technology.
