ABSTRACT
This chapter does not reflect content from the roundtable. It is written to address many of the issues, data, and approaches discussed in the preceding chapters from the roundtable that contained a certain emphasis on contemporary realities in the West and to address these within the context of Asia’s advanced economies. Particular attention is also given to the governance challenges that will need to be tackled from the perspective of the unique attributes of the developmental state in Asia. Topics include innovation-led economic development, the changing dynamic of work and skills, and challenges to social inclusion.
