ABSTRACT
The concept of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) and their basic optical properties has been presented. Moreover, the classification of PCFs, different fabrication processes, and their potential applications has been discussed in brief. This chapter also explains the mathematical model that is used to investigate the optical properties of the designed fiber.
