ABSTRACT

BCI or brain–computer interface is a buzzing technology in the world. It can be understood as a mechanism of commanding various hardware devices just by the use of signals generated by the brain, and using those signals to comprehend the intention of the brain to perform a certain activity. The microelectrical signals of the brain are assembled as a concept of EEG (Electroencephalograph/Electroencephalogram), which can be translated as a pattern of data generated on a brain stimulus. This can be further used to trigger computer functionalities as per requirements. It finds unlimited possibilities largely aiding humans with physical disabilities. Also, it can be used in/along a plethora of other applications such as IoT, data analytics, etc. However, a lot of research work still remains in the preclinical stage of this domain. The primary focus is to comprehend the key elements of this technology and its workings so as to pave the way for researchers in this domain.
