ABSTRACT

The process capability indicators represent the way to achieve the capability of the process attribute (PA). This really means that any evidence of process indicators supports the assessor's judgement of the degree to which the process meets its purpose. Technically there are six levels: Level 0 to Level 5. However, there are no process capability indicators for Level 0 as this level represents a non-implemented process or a process that fails to meet its outcomes. The chapter describes the process capability indicators for the nine process attributes included in the capability dimension for Levels 1 through 5 namely Level 1 (PA 1.1), Level 2 (PA 2.1, PA 2.2), Level 3 (PA 3.1, PA 3.2), Level 4 (PA 4.1, PA 4.2), and Level 5 (PA 5.1, PA 5.2). The process referenced in Level 1: Performed Process can be seen as managed: that is, it is planned, monitored, adjusted, with work products that are properly established, controlled, and maintained.
