ABSTRACT

The participatory process is an efficient tactic to accelerate and maintain engagement. Participatory decisions require more energy and time from people and can be complex to manage. Select carefully the decisions and activities that will be conducted using participatory processes. A good participatory process is a process that involves people in the decisions without becoming bureaucratic or affecting productivity. The participatory process has to be logical and transparent. Often the decision is not unanimous, but the decision will have taken into account the different perspectives brought by the stakeholders. Participatory processes, whether in meetings or workshops, face to face or with virtual teams, are excellent opportunities for the project team and change managers to observe behaviors and the level of acceptance of stakeholders to change. Turn the participatory process into a good practice of change and project management. This will help maintain motivation and a positive environment for the change to be successful.
