ABSTRACT

Culture has a powerful way of demonstrating one's true self and revealing the mysteries of others. The way a person speaks, how one expresses oneself and the approaches a person employs indicate one's culture. The concept of proximity also enlightens about the boundary of privacy and issues such as trust from the perspective of culture. In a feminine culture, people prefer cooperation, caring and modesty; they subscribe to quality of life, and less distinction is made between men and women. Cultural values affect a person at the group level, where the culture belongs to a specific group or category. Unlike people in an externally directed culture, those in an internally focused culture have a different view in regard to defining the ways in which goals should be met. In specific cultures, people set clear boundaries between professionalism and friendship in the workplace.
