ABSTRACT

Security investigators will quickly discover that an organized method of investigation will make life easier and more productive for themselves and their supervisors. One security expert referred to the security business and operation as a sort of “ecosystem” that needs to be tracked at every level including “applicant tracking, onboarding, security operations, scheduling, payroll, invoicing, accounting, and other business operations.” Clients are rightfully impressed with a well-organized security professional and just as rightfully distressed over the inefficient and bungling operative. Private security offices should give this practice consideration, particularly when the volume of appointments is steadily increasing. Envision the security investigator who receives a call from a client inquiring about case status, and the file is buried deeply beneath a stack of papers or other documents arranged without rhyme or reason. The security profession is regulated by both clock and calendar.
