ABSTRACT

Each of the five essays that comprise these chapters contains the description by a current or former patient of Dr. Robbins of what was learned about his or her aberrant use of language, its origins in his or her early development, and something about its modification in the course of psychoanalytically informed therapy. Following each essay is the author’s reflection on its meaning with reference to the hypotheses of the book about primordial consciousness and language development and aberration.
