ABSTRACT

There are two basic element categories or groupings in any Dream Sociogram. The first involves distinguishing the "chooser" from the "chosen." The second involves consideration of axis placement. In understanding the Dream Sociogram, created by the patterns of preference of interviewed perspectives associated with a life drama or dream, we first need to: consider the relationships among the various axes; evaluate the distance of a dream element from the center of the Dream Sociogram; and consider the relative placement of each element on its axis. Net scores from the right margin of the Dream Sociomatrix indicate how preferring or rejecting one character is of all elements, including itself. These scores are plotted and placed on the vertical Acceptance axis of the Dream Sociogram. The best-known and most feared form of multi-dream pattern is the repetitive nightmare. All antithetical patterns include significant conflict implying strong feelings of fear commonly associated with nightmares.
