ABSTRACT
Element placement is typically "floating" at some distance above and to the right of the center of the Dream Sociogram. For each of the five levels of categorization, there are various major placements theoretically possible within the chart. The levels are individual dream elements, individual character relationships, the intrasocial group as a whole, many intrasocial groups, and intrasocial group patterns of different dreamers. This chapter describes the general characteristics of each of these categories as well as their application to one character or one Dream Sociogram. A Dream Sociogram falling into the preferring-preferred category indicates inner integration and some degree of the synthesis stage of the developmental dialectic. Synthesis Dream Sociograms have a positive valence: the movement of their intention flows toward integration. Dream Sociograms are extreme examples of preferring/preferred intrasocial group constellations. Preferring choosers/bipolar chosen placements indicate fundamental nurturance and acceptance accompanied by dissonance in thought, feeling and/or action.
