ABSTRACT

Manual coding can be challenging – especially when working with large data. The task of simultaneously working on multiple kinds of documents (such as a transcript, codebook, initial memo and analytical memo) and keeping track of the codes being generated makes manual coding time-consuming. Imagine having a qualitative data analysis software (QDAS) program with basic but user-friendly data analysis functions capable of addressing the above manual coding limitations. QDA Miner Lite does that and also helps in connecting demographic information to the transcripts imported, and generating and assigning codes to relevant information. At the end of the chapter, you will be able to code, retrieve a list of codes created, and visualize findings using the QDA Miner Lite software.
