ABSTRACT

The optimal concern of the critical subaltern researcher peering through the lens of critical theory is the sociopolitical forces that continue to shape and reshape injustice and inequality. There must be then an intentional and consistent pursuit to engage the individual and society in a consistent dialogue rooted in emancipatory principles infused with democracy and freedom. The critical foundation that informs a decolonizing interpretive framework seeks to move society toward praxis of knowledge production that embraces the beauty of human differences, specifically with respect to the consequences of hegemonic conditions on the lives of those who have been historically marginalized and oppressed. Through the process of emancipatory re-reading, a critical deconstruction of epistemicides embedded within the educational and theological constructs was carried out, which culminated in a liberatory vision of the pedagogy of Christ.
