ABSTRACT

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have great potential for environmental sustainability and its applications support the transition toward a circular economy by raising awareness on ICTs and advocating for innovative solutions that can ensure a sustainable future. ICT applications in different sectors enable energy savings, increases energy efficiency, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Organizations in the ICT sector are taking leading actions toward a low-carbon economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. ICTs can help in assessing water supply adequacy, modeling different supply and technology alternatives, and factor in different usage technologies. Rahul Tongia et al. disclosed the importance of ICT’s assessments of water supply adequacy, modeling different supply and technology alternatives, and factoring in different usage technologies. Many emerging fields striving in sustainability have emerged mainly with the accelerated progress of ICTs and its applications for environmental science and economic and social change across all areas of human activity worldwide.
