ABSTRACT

Information and communication technology (ICT) enhance the quality and performance of urban services, minimizing environmental impact and resource consumption, and engaging more actively with its citizens. Besides technology advancements and the role of ICTs to build a viable sustainable society in a path toward smarter cities standardization will play a key role in ensuring consistent outcomes. ICT has a key role in sustainable development and the sector has been a pioneer and a powerful catalyst in addressing global risks and sustainability. ICTs’ value proposition is its ability to capture and share information in a timely- manner as well as enabling infrastructure and energy-related data acquisition, monitoring, and management operations and services. The benefits of Artificial intelligence (AI) applications can be tailored to improving power system management and ICT application’s efficiency. AI applications in smart grids and renewable energy systems provide powerful tools for design, simulation, control, estimation, fault diagnostics, and fault tolerance.
