ABSTRACT

The venue manager's relationship with a client begins before the client becomes a client. The purpose of the venue enquiry form is to record the basic details of an enquiry to the venue, enough to generate a response to a potential client. The document does not go into more depth of information because details can be discussed at length during the venue show-round where the client views the venue, or at a client briefing meeting. If an enquiry is received but the venue event manager is unavailable to receive the enquiry, the person who is answering the enquiry should only take the potential client's contact details. Before any enquiry is entertained it is good practice to research the date of the event to ascertain whether there are conflicts. Date conflicts may be internal, such as a booking, an enquiry or a provisional booking having already been received for the venue, space or room(s).
