ABSTRACT
If the enquiry is handled efficiently by the venue event manager and the venue is available on the date of the event, a potential client will wish to view the venue for themselves, meet the venue manager and discuss the event in greater detail. This initial viewing of the venue is the show-round or recce (reconnaissance). A show-round of the venue is vital for the client (the 'client' of a venue can be an event organiser, event agent, event company or direct client) so they can make an informed decision about using a venue for their event. A show-round is also the first opportunity for a venue manager to show off and display the venue to secure a client. This is so important that there should be procedures in place for each show-round, just like any other live happening.
