ABSTRACT

On the day of the event, the venue manager will know from the event schedule what time the set-up begins. It is important for the venue manager to know when the client will arrive onsite, and should be available to receive the client. If the one-person management structure is being observed, the client will expect the venue manager to be present. Clients often arrive to the venue after the get-in because they are not always involved with the set-up. So, the venue's responsibilities could begin before the client arrives. The venue manager may not be required for the early duties of get-in and set-up, and could delegate this to an assistant, the technical manager or a member of security. The venue hire contract works both ways, for the venue and for the client. The get-in time as stated in the venue hire contract is legally binding.
