ABSTRACT

There are many ways to make Painter work better for your own workflow. In this chapter I show you how to create customized palettes for brushes and commands so you don't need to keep going up to the menu to access them. You can name those palettes and move any of your palettes anywhere on your workspace. You can close down several palettes to open up more room on the workspace, and then open and close the palettes when you need them. If you make adjustments to a specific brush, you can save those changes into your own custom brush as well. You can make custom color palettes so that all the colors you need for specific skin ranges are in one place. You can save images to a palette so that you can use them each time you do a drawing. I save a clean copy of my signature to use for each composite, and a watermark also. If you don't like to use blenders, you might want to investigate the different paper textures in Painter. Those give various effects when used with the drawing tools to give your work even more realism.
