ABSTRACT
The entries in the following section identify the persons and places of BR, either in the form of historical and explanatory annotations for particular passages in the text or in alphabetical listings of CD's characters and locales. Also included are all plot synopses for BR and the numerous topographical guides to the various buildings, communities, and thoroughfares featured in BR, among CD's other works, essentially sightseeing handbooks for the ever-popular "literary" tour. All these works are grouped into this section, rather than the section above, because they rarely attempt any interpretation of CD's use of his materials or offer any critical observations concerning his fiction. However, occasionally they do contain helpful background or supplementary information for the study of CD's writings.
